Join us for an in-depth and accessible presentation with Dr. J. Patrick Neary, a leading researcher in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and sport-related concussion, as he breaks down what a concussion truly is, how it affects the brain and body, and what science tells us about recovery.
With more than 20 years of research experience, Dr. Neary will explain the physiological changes that occur following a concussion, including disruptions in brain blood flow regulation and cardiovascular function. He will also explore the short- and longer-term consequences of concussion, helping participants better understand why symptoms can vary so widely and why recovery looks different for everyone.

Dr. Neary is a Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina and an internationally recognized expert in concussion research. His work has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), and the NFL/NFL Players Association, and he is an active Board Member of the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association.
